most popular pin

My most repinned pin this month is a quote from C.S Lewis, and it is also one of my favorites, as it is very inspirational!

At the end of the month, I had 315 followers (+46) and hundreds of daily repins. It looks like my Pinterest profile is gaining some momentum, as it is also my top referer to the website from my social media accounts.

Facebookmost popular FB post

This meme had the most reach on my Facebook Page from my non-blog promote posts. It still makes me chuckle!

I love Facebook for personal use, but absolutely loath the way they manage Facebook pages. Not a day goes by that I do not think about just simply deleting my page and be done with it!

Reason I didn’t deleted last month is that out of nowhere (after a dry spell of a few weeks) I gained 360 new followers, bringing the grand total to 2114!Lets see how many of these are going to stick around!

July was a busy month for me, and it all payed off in the end. Now for the month of August, I am taking a break, and will only post once per week. The family and I are going on vacation, and right after we will have visitors for a couple of weeks. So real life is going to take over for a bit

I hope all of you have a fantastic summer and I will see you again in the fall!

Until next time

best of spark of allure

This post is for my fellow blogger friends, who enjoy taking a peek behind the scenes and see how my website is doing overall!

It is time to take a look at how Spark of Allure did in June! What was the most popular new content,best-performing pin and what Instagram Image got the most likes! And what are the number overall for this website!

Best of June on Spark of Allure

Top 5 all-time posts in June!

  1. DIY Makeup Spray
  2. Baby Powder in your Makeup Routine
  3. DIY Face Highlighter
  4. DIY Eyeshadow Primer
  5. Dry Brush Nail Art with OPI

Obviously the Beauty DIY is a hit. And naturally I am planning on doing more of them in the future! Even so I am running quickly out of ideas! So if you have anything in mind that could cover, please let me know!

Most popular new content in June

  1. Dry Brush Nail Art with OPI
  2. 3 Easy Steps to Perfect Smooth Legs

Popular on Social Media and the numbers

My social media following grew to 2693 (increase of 3.5%). I am still losing quite a few likes on Facebook. For about every new like, two people, unlike my page! This is what I get for playing the “like for a like” game on Facebook.

Do not participate in “follow for a follow” It brings no value to your Social Media presence.

My Pinterest profile is gaining momentum! With my most popular pin in June being the “How to contour and highlight your chest area” This pin is not originally from me but

popular pin

I also have been more active on Instagram in June. Here is a snapshot of my most liked image on the left and my overall stats on IG on the right!

Instagram did another round of deactivating fake accounts, and it does show in my follower’s number. As there is no way to prevent fake and spam accounts to follow you, you just have to live with the loss!

Social Media Fans

  • Facebook 1754
  • Instagram 344
  • Pinterest 269
  • Twitter 174
  • Google+ 152

The number game according to Google Analytics!

Here is a screen shot of my website data! May stats are on top, and June is on the bottom.

stats compared

My monthly page views increased a bit in June. But as you can see on the bounce rate and average stay, people find my website, but they don’t stay for long.

Getting my audience to stick around is something I have to keep in mind and need to work on!

Hope you enjoyed this little “Best of” post and the insight on what is going on behind the scenes!

Until next time

Fashion blogger concept. Still life of fashion creative space

Another month went by in the blogging world. And I do have to say that I did not blog as much as I wanted to. But for a very cute and adorable reason!

Kira and her puppies

Kira and her puppies

I took a mama dog and her five puppies in as fosters! Besides that they are cuteness overload, they are also a lot of work! My whole routine just went down the drain. It took me a couple of weeks to finally get back on track!

So let’s take a look at what was happening on and with Spark of Allure in the month of April!

Top 5 all-time posts!

  1. DIY Makeup setting spray
  2. Uses for baby powder in makeup routine
  3. Setting up a cleaning schedule
  4. DIY Face Highlighter
  5. DIY Eyeshadow Primer

Besides the oddball with the cleaning schedule, you can see that the DIY makeup posts are immensely popular! I need to keep that in mind for future articles!

Most popular April posts

I only posted six new articles in April. So the pool to crunch numbers on was slight. But here are the top two posts:

  1. My Spring Makeup Essentials
  2. Animal Print Nail Art

The Animal Print Nail Art was also my top post that had the most engagement across all my social media profiles!

The number game!

Now let’s take a look at my website’s and Social Media presence’ performance!

My total page views were 4,542 an increase of 8% Obviously because I did not post as regularly in April, I saw a dip in the increase percentage. I have been steadily growing my monthly views by 10-15% in the last six month.

My social media following grew to 2599 (increase of 9%). I lost quite a few of likes on Facebook but gained followers on Pinterest and Instagram. Me and my Facebook page have a love-hate relationship, and I know that everyone who runs a page will understand

Me and my Facebook Page have a love-hate relationship, and I know that everyone who runs a page will understand why. Facebook page reach algorithm is just ridiculous, and I’m not willing to pay a fee in order for my fans to see a post!

I started a marketing strategy with Pinterest and Instagram in April. And so far it is paying off, as the engagement and likes increases on both accounts! I will post an article about these strategies when I had more data and tweaked it a bit more!

We are already one week into May, and this is my first post this month. I have all the upcoming content outlined (6 weeks worth of articles!!!) All they need is the fine tuning and for me to find the time to get them to you! Keep your fingers crossed!

Until next time

Fashion blogger concept. Still life of fashion creative space

Find the time to finally blog full-time! What is holding me back? I am a stay at home mom and do not really have that many obligations outside of my home!

As of right now, I spend about three hours a day on Spark of Allure. That includes writing posts, networking, promoting, and learning the ropes in the blogging word! The rest of my day, I spend on cleaning and hanging out with friends! Which is great fun, but in the end it is not going to get me closer to the goal I have in mind for Spark of Allure.

Now, I know that three hours a day is a lot more than most bloggers get to spend on their blog! But the reason I am itching to really blog full time (aka 4o hours a week) is the numbers I see in my stats.

Every since I started to spend time daily on the blog, my page views have been climbing! Companies approach me to see if I want to work with them. I receive emails from readers asking for advice on a topic I have been covering, and so on!

All that encourages me that I am on the right path with my blog.

And now it is time for an experiment! Next week I will be working on Spark of Allure full-time! No excuses, no sidetrack, no coffee dates (sob), no nothing that hasn’t to do with my blog! And with the kids spring break and Easter coming up, it is the perfect timing to grind out that content before the little buggers take over my day!

My kids go to school from 8:30am-4pm, so I am going to block out the time from 9am-3:30pm for working on content creation, social media posts, and any other things that I need to do without getting distracted!

That is 6 1/2 hours of serious blogging time! The missing 1 1/2 hours I will do in the early morning (before kids get up) and after they go to bed!

It is going to be interesting to see how I do! I think the biggest distraction will be not to do housework and not to take a nap 😉

But I am committed to do this for one week, and I am looking forward to the results! I will have a follow-up post next week, where I break down on how I did, the biggest obstacles and if a full-time blogging schedule is feasible for me!

I can not wait to share the results with you!

Until next time
