Finally got to painting nails again! A Neon Pink Nail Art perfect for summer! Never mind the rough-looking cuticles or the oh so raggedy lines, LOL! They still look awesome.
On a sad note, this is the last time I will be able to use this China Glaze polish. Pool Party is now almost four years old, and rather on the gooey side now! It has been my favorite neon polish for years.
And I am still struggling with if I should reorder a bottle or move on and find a new neon coral pink polish! If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
- white polish for base color
- China Glaze Pool Party (Amazon affiliated)
- black gel pen
- dotting tool (Amazon affiliated)
Then comes a layer or two of pink neon polish.
Use your white polish and dotting tool to create large dots over the nails.
Next apply smaller pink dots within the white!
Apply a top coat and wait for it to be completely dry.
Now comes my favorite nail art trick. Instead of using a black polish that will result in me messing up big time and the whole thing is ruined.
I used a regular black gel pen (stationary kind) and drew on some curly cues. What is so impressive about using a gel pen for details is, if you mess up, all you need is a swipe of you finger and your mistake is gone, without ruining the whole manicure!
Give the gel a few minutes to set and layer a generous amount of top coat over it! Here comes the tricky part. Don’t let does touch the gel as that will make it streak. Make sure you have a good amount of top coat on the tip of the brush so that only the polish touches the gel.
They might not be the world’s perfect curly cues but they are mine, and all those little mistakes don’t show in real life!
Next time you do your nails, bust out those gel pens and get creating! The sky is the limit! And do not forget to check out my neon striped nail art I did way back when I had no idea how to take pictures properly yet!
Until next time
