DIY eye mask is up! And not the one you use for sleeping. I am talking about the ones that fight the under eye bags, dark circles.
I am big on the eyes! They are my favorite part of my face. I have tried tons of store-bought products, but my skin around the eyes is so sensitive that I have yet to come across one that doesn’t cause burning and irritation.
DIY Eye Mask Ingredients
- Two bags of black tea
- 10 drops Vitamin E Oil
- One tsp Witch Hazel
- Large cotton pads
- Zip lock bags
DIY Eye Mask Preparation
Steep the tea in a cup of hot water, and let it cool down. Mix in the Vitamin E and Witch Hazel. Soak the cotton pads with the mixture, and squeeze out (between your palms) any excess liquid.
Layer the pads flat in a single file within the Zip Lock bag, and put them in the freezer for later use (tip from thebeautybean.com)
DIY Eye Mask Use
Take two pads out the freezer and let it thaw for a bit – this can be done overnight in the refrigerator. Place them on your eyes, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes (whatever your time permits, but the longer, the better.
In just a couple of minutes, you will start feeling that your eye area begins to tighten and tingle. You can feel it work.
After the time is up, massage in the residue oil into your skin.
At this point, you can skip eye cream, as the Vitamin E oil will moisturize the area, or go ahead and apply your favorite product.
